Givens Choice is a membership program affiliated with our life plan communities. It is like LTCI in that your membership covers the cost of your future long-term care needs, providing you with financial protection and peace of mind. As with LTCI, your eligibility for membership is based, in part, on a medical screening. Therefore, your chances of being enrolled in the program are much better if your health is good.

The foundation of our program is individualized, personal care navigation. We will put care in place when you need help with just one activity of daily living, whereas long-term care insurance requires at least two. Unlike long-term care insurance, there is no waiting period for before your benefit is initiated.

Givens Choice has 3 flexible plans that allow you to use your membership as a stand-alone alternative to long-term care insurance or paired with an existing policy for an extra layer of security. Regardless of the plan you choose, you’ll get the same level of personalized care assistance, asset protection, and care navigation.

The membership fee and the monthly fees are considered prepaid medical expenses for tax purposes. However, you should consult with your tax advisor to see if these fees meet the criteria based on your individual financial situation.

As a nonprofit organization, we work to keep costs as low as possible. The monthly fee is adjusted annually based on the cost-of-living adjustment.

Pricing is per person.  There is a discount on the membership and monthly fees for individuals who live in the same home and join the program together.

Yes. The monthly fee begins when you become a member of the program.  These payments continue as long as you are a member of Givens Choice. The monthly fee does not increase if your care needs change.
